Ltd is an independent environmental management consultancy company. Nick Schad
set up the company in September 1998 in order to pursue contracts of interest
and relevance mainly to the oil and gas industry worldwide.
We are based in Morningside, Edinburgh. Our facilities at this site comprise the consultancy office, with offsite storage available in Leith, Edinburgh.
EMCS currently employs 2 staff in Edinburgh. The principal consultant, Nick Schad, operates primarily as environmental scientist/marine biologist/environmental manager and planner. Wendy McMurdo, the other company Director, is responsible for quality assurance/control and company administration; she is also an internationally acclaimed artist.
We have been involved with environmental issues since 1982 at which time Nick began studying for his honours degree in Marine Biology (Heriot-Watt University) following this with an MSc in Marine Resource Development & Protection in 1990 (Institute of Offshore Engineering). He joined Agip UK Ltd in London as their Safety & Environmental Advisor in 1991, and in 1996 joined ERT Ltd in Edinburgh as a consultant specialising in the field of industrial environmental management with particular reference to the oil and gas industry. In 1998 he set up his own consultancy, EMCS Ltd.
This long experience means Nick is recognised for his skills and competence in industrial and environmental consultancy circles by regulators, peers and industry specialists alike.
